INformation, Resources, and Support for Women with PTSD

                         Women with PTSD United (WWPTSDU)

Live, Local Peer Support Groups:   Guidance, education, and support for women with PTSD to form peer support groups at the local level, as part of a global network of groups available free of charge and supported and run by members. The WWPTSDU website will maintain guidelines and advice regarding group formation, as well as resources and materials for meeting topics and activities. A weekly topic suggestion manual/personal workbook (see below) will be available free of charge on the WWPTSDU website, as well as upon request via electronic means. * No religion of any kind will be allowed in these support groups, unless formed by women with a unanimous determination that it will be allowed, to be reviewed when any new member joins and to be respected if "No religion" is requested by a peer. This includes saying that you're 'praying' for members or keeping them in your 'prayers'. Many women have been traumatised in the name of religion, and globally there are many religions to be respected, therefore this guideline is to be adhered to with the exception of the aforementioned circumstances.

Online Support Group: Women with PTSD United- Support Group will be available as a closed forum on Facebook  (https://www.facebook.com/groups/480364282110787/) for women with PTSD to receive 24/7 support from peers. The group administrators will consist of women with PTSD around the world as determined by current administration and group guidelines will remain as stated here:

*This is a closed group- This means that none of your FB friends are able to see what you post. Your posts will come up in your own newsfeed but your friends will not be able to see it.

  1. * We are not mental health professionals ,nor are the members of this group . If you are feeling suicidal , please seek the help of a professional or call a suicide prevention line.
  2. * We are not medical professionals. We are happy to offer opinions but please go and see your primary care doctor for diagnoses.
  3. * Posts talking about self harming, specific plans ,words that indicate ending your life , discussions that tie in suicide and or self harm are all removed and or reported.  All suicidal posts will be reported to facebook.
  4. * No religion of any kind is allowed in this group. No references, no mention ...all posts/comments are removed. This includes saying that you're 'praying' for members or keeping them in your 'prayers' We are taking a zero tolerance approach to this guideline.. You will be removed if this guideline is violated. To clarify we see angels not as religious, but as any good person, we take into account common phrase usage (e.g. thank god), and namaste' is a non-religious term for a meeting of souls.
  5. * Please do not title your posts with Trigger or Warning here as it is a trauma group and members read at their own caution.
  6. * Arguing with admins is grounds for removal. All admins are also trauma survivors with PTSD and help run this page on their own time. Please show them the respect they more than deserve, especially when giving gentle reminders on our guidelines. If you block an admin you will be removed, no second chances.
  7. * Any pictures that depict violence, injury, self-harm, etc. will be removed .
  8. * Any stories from the news that are graphic in nature regarding murder, rape, etc. will also be removed. You have to keep in mind that this is a trauma group when posting. If your post triggers multiple members, you will either be asked to edit or remove. This is for the safety of all.
  9. * Unless weapons are part of your trauma, there is to be no discussing of them. This is a trauma page, please be mindful of others.
  10. * Marketing in a support group for trauma is an absolute No . Posting links for products or anything that asks for profit is not allowed. We do not allow any sites asking for donations, no Go Fund me posts, etc. We ask that you dont promote your business here, we are here for support not for business listings. No petitions or contest links are to be posted.
  11. * There is to be no racism or political discussions on this page, we will not accept any derogatory remarks of any kind.
  12. * Please be mindful when commenting that you are validating the original poster. Ladies are here to get support, not to have their posts taken over by others.
  13. * Side messaging or sending friend requests is not allowed, unless the person within the group has said publicly on the wall it is ok to do so. All members must feel safe and their privacy is priority.
  14. * Please do not share your personal information on the page. E.g. phone numbers, addresses, email. Please no screen shots of texts from others outside this group. Protect your privacy! Please do not use your abusers full name in this group... This goes for pictures as well
  15. * We 'Like' to show support, not because we like the situation your in.
  16. * Please watch your use of CAPS.. this can signify yelling which is a trigger for all.
  17. * Admins are grateful for all new information being added to the 'files' section. But before adding, please message us first. This will help not doubling up and keeping it tidy :)
  18. * As we are an international site, there is to be no mention of illicit drugs, while i do understand there are places that certain drugs are legal, in more places they are not. Unless these are part of your trauma, there is to be no mention. Please be mindful when talking about other addictive substances (alcohol). Please respect the safety of our members and this page.
  19. * Please do not bring in any complaints or issues from other groups into this one. We are here to support each other in our struggles, not to complain about how other groups are run. Please do not share screen shots from other groups or from people that are not members of this group. Everybody deserves respect and privacy.
  20. * Please keep posters/memes down to 3 a day per member... These push down posts looking for support. Please DO NOT use the share button on these- if you like the picture, save to your device. Our members value their privacy and do not want their names out there for all to see.
